First Day of School 2019!
Boooooooo. I was dreading school starting this year. Ian started 5th! Jack, 3rd! And my miss Alana started Kindergarten. I was definitely not ready for that to happen. The boys started a week before she did and so she couldn't wait for her turn! The boys seemed to enjoy their first day but quickly learned that school means work and having to sit for a long time and do things they don't want to do! Ian walked Alana to the Kindergarten playground on her first day. There were balloons and tons of teachers clapping and giving high 5s to the kids. She was a little nervous and didn't eat much breakfast but there were no tears.... on her part. I picked her up 3 hours later and she was all smiles and very hungry.

Butterfly Biosphere
Every Tuesday during the month of August its $2 Tuesday at all Thanksgiving Point venues. This year the butterfly biosphere opened and I decided to take the kids. Alone. It was fun! And maybe a little stressful too. And probably not worth the $20 price tag it normally is, but for $2 it was great!
The kids had a great time trying to catch butterflies and running around the playground and climbing on on other fun things.

New York Trip
This summer we also made our way back to New York! The whole family came and what an adventure! We spent many many hours on the plane or in the airports due to weather and airplane problems. The kids did great despite being 6 hours late getting there and 12 hours late getting home.
We stayed at Debbie's house and she was such a great hostess. We did tons of swimming, which was needed because it was so humid. We ate lots of snacks, shared meals with other family members too. Becky and the kids even brought their pop up out and spent the whole week at Debbie's!
Poppy loved playing ball with Priya. She'd run and then bring it back to him.
We enjoyed alot of yummy ice cream and they were giant!
Bruce lit up a fire for us and the kids enjoyed seeing lightening bugs! One of the great memories from my childhood. Little did I know, there aren't any out west.
Of course Jack caught frogs and salamanders and other creatures. He is always catching things.
We found a cool short hike for the kids to go on and man it was like we were walking through the rain forest, it was so humid. I completely forgot how oppressive it is!
We also spent time at my parents and i took the kids up to the back woods where I would play as a kid. We saw some deer too!
Nanny played games with the kids and poppy gave the boys a ride on his 4 wheeler.
No visit would be complete without some good New York pizza! Man was it so good!
Alana's favorite place would be around the blueberry bush. Uncle Bruce took her our whenever he went to pick berries. She loves her blueberries.

I love going home. I always we lived closer so we could visit more often. It was a good trip for us. Jack and Ian were just babies when they went last. It was much overdue. The kids loved playing with their cousins, meeting Aunts and Uncles and getting to know Poppy and Nanny better.
